About City Council Meetings
The governing authority of the City of Fort Oglethorpe is the Mayor and City Council, which consist of six elected members who serve four-year terms. While all six members are elected at large (serving the entire city), all must reside within Fort Oglethorpe. At their first meeting each calendar year, the city council selects the Mayor pro-tem.
Fort Oglethorpe’s Regular City Council Meetings are held on the 2nd and 4th Mondays of each month at 6p. To be placed on the agenda, the name and subject must be submitted to Carol Murray before 4:30p on Thursday before the Monday night meeting. Carol can be reached at 706-866-2544 ext. 1300.
