The Human Resources Department supports the goals and challenges of City of Fort Oglethorpe employees by providing services that promote a work environment that exemplifies fair treatment, open communications, personal responsibility, trust and shared respect. The HR Department will seek and provide consistent, comprehensive support and solutions to workplace issues that promote and maintain ethical and legal practices in all situations.
The department is responsible for the formulation and administration of HR policies; recruitment, referral and selection of applicants to fill City jobs; administration of the position classification and pay plan; and administration of employee benefits, health and wellness, employee relations and equal employment opportunity (EEO) programs.
The City of Fort Oglethorpe policies establish guidelines to maintain a drug- and alcohol-free workplace. Such policies are intended to comply with all applicable federal regulations and City’s insurance requirements governing workplace anti-drug and alcohol programs.
