The City of Fort Oglethorpe operates under a council-manager form of government. The Fort Oglethorpe City Council appoints the City Manager to serve as the chief executive officer of the City, responsible for annual budget development and advising the Council on policy issues.
The City Manager serves the City of Fort Oglethorpe, Catoosa County’s largest municipality, with more than a $25 million budget and over 80 employees.
The City Manager leads an executive leadership team of eight offices: Police, Public Utilities, Public Works, Recreation and Leisure Services, Finance, Economic Development and Events, Human Resources, and the Municipal Court. The City’s Charter prescribes the City Manager’s powers and duties.
