Municipal Court
The Fort Oglethorpe Municipal Court provides transparent, timely, and equal service to all who encounter the court while maintaining a high level of efficiency and accountability.
The Fort Oglethorpe Municipal Court adjudicates certain misdemeanor criminal cases, traffic violations, and other violations of municipal ordinances to include codes enforcement and nuisance violations.
We maintain all original citations for traffic misdemeanors and violations of local ordinance, as well as maintaining court dispositions. We also receive payments for fines, fees, and cash bonds.
It is our intention to provide prompt, impartial and consistent service to maximize confidence in our court.

To determine the fine amount, you can visit fortoglethorpepay.com or call the Clerk’s office.
Fines can be paid in person, by mail, or online at fortoglethorpepay.com. You may also pay over the phone using your Visa, Master Card, or Discover Card by dialing (470) 713-8794
Accepted payment methods include cash, money order, cashier’s check or credit card.
Money orders and Cashier’s checks should be made payable to the City of Fort Oglethorpe. Personal checks will not be accepted and will be returned.
NOTE: A small convenience fee applies to all credit card transactions.

For certain citations, you may plea guilty and pay a fine without appearing before the court. Others require a mandatory appearance. If you are not sure whether you must appear for court, you can check the Court Calendar or you may contact the Clerk’s office at 706-866-2989 before your court date.
If you fail to appear in court:
- Your drivers' license may be suspended and/or a warrant for your arrest may be issued.
- A contempt/late fee of $25 will be added for each traffic citation after a missed court date.
- If a warrant is issued for Failure to Appear, a $200 contempt fee will be added.
- Contact the Clerk’s office for information regarding resolution of failure to appear warrants or license suspensions.
